Rebel Heir: inside details
A banished prince tries to avert a war he helped to cause, and in the process ends up as bodyguard to the enemy king.
Rebel Heir. In one sentence.
Yes, I’m proud of the hook. I feel like I have a right to be.
The 777 Tag: A Taste of REBEL HEIR
I don’t normally do tags. Mainly I forget. Or I have real *coughs* my own material that I’d rather post on my blog. Besides, all tags seem the same after you’ve been watching them for several years.
But this one is actually cool.
At least Scarlett approves. For now that’s enough.
Guys. I have a title.
It’s about time for Legends of Light #4. What do you think? In any case, I’m pleased to tell you the rough draft is done! And I even have a title.
Legends of Light is made up of three sets of three novellas, so this second set will have a slightly different style of title and cover.
*rubs hands*
I’m quite excited about it. Continue reading
Fidelyon: ‘X’ with Ethaniel
Ethaniel, the main character in my novel, Fidelyon, has taken it upon himself to introduce you to his world by going through an alphabet of terms and names.
Yeah… X. That letter that no one actually uses to start a word with. So we’re just going to pretend that X stands for ‘random fun facts’. Because why can’t it stand for that, after all?
Fidelyon has gone through a number of titles, the first one being Legend of the Shield and one of the most recent titles being The Shield and the Spear. Yes, I like Fidelyon better too. Why do you think we went with it?
Fidelyon was founded in the summer of 2012 and started off as a 20-minute movie that was partly cool and partly horrible and only a few elements remain. The hero’s name was Artos and his companion was Tristin. I do believe Dartagnah and Silvara are the only two names that survived.
Fidelyon: ‘W’ with Ethaniel

Wolves, of course. Not the nasty savage ones I’ve heard rumors about in other worlds; these are real wolves. I mean, I suppose they can be savage enough if let loose. But tamed, they make swift mounts and great beasts of war. Standing with their shoulders as high as a man’s chest, they are strong and can cover a distance two or three times the speed of a horse. Their gait is much smoother as well, I might add. And don’t look at me like that. Just because I’m Elentisaren doesn’t mean the Volandums get to keep all the cool things.
Fidelyon: ‘U’ and ‘V’ with Ethaniel
‘U’ with Ethaniel:

Unfinished. Hey, don’t look at me like that. It’s the best I could come up with. Besides, it’s true. We’ve been working on this history upward… five years now? It’s still not done. The good news is that it is coming along, at least that is what Hope tells me. She just finished what she calls the ‘rewrite draft’ last week. She’s still muttering about it, though she tries not to let me hear. Something about too many things happening and too many people taking a role in the story. She has this structure which each part of the history supposed to be somewhat similar in length. Apparently, that didn’t happen. Don’t blame me. Here’s what the draft turned out to be.
Fidelyon: ‘S’ and ‘T’ with Ethaniel
‘S’ with Ethaniel:

Seamus! He’s a slight lad; red curls and an impish grin. For some reason, he seems to have devoted himself to me, beyond his position as my page. I’ve no clue why, but he’s diligent enough. Of course, he always seems to be chattering about something or another. Not to mention his impish delight in seeing how many items he can steal from our pouches and belts without us noticing. I honestly ought to speak with Lasher about his so-called ‘ranger training’ but Seamus takes such delight in it that I keep putting it off and by now it’s probably too late.
Fidelyon: ‘Q’ and ‘R’ with Ethaniel

‘Q’ with Ethaniel:
Quotes, of course! At least I’m told that is what they are called. Just random things people have said…
Things like my friend, Drexin’s, reaction whenever my lack of status as an orphan comes up.
Fidelyon: ‘O’ and ‘P’ with Ethaniel
‘O’ with Ethaniel:
Ethaniel, the main character in my novel, Fidelyon, has taken it upon himself to introduce you to his world by going through an alphabet of terms and names.
The letter ‘O’ stand for… for… One! Yes, the number one will work. Don’t look at me like that. I have to think of something. There are a number of things I could use ‘one’ for, but I’ll stick with the first thing to spring to mind.
Two nations, becoming one. Unity. That is the prophecy of the end of the third age, after all. Elentisa, split since Shaquille’s rebellion during the first age, will be united with Voland once more. It was one of those things everyone knows vaguely from stories told by crackling firesides. It was not something anyone would picture happening in their lifetime. Or any lifetime, by the looks of the relations between our lands.
Emphasis on the ‘was’.
Just one little problem for our piece of mind. The prophecy doesn’t tell how such a union will come about. Or rather, it gives two choices. We will unite in glory and peace, or in flames and destruction. Frankly, flames look like they have a better chance right now. Not that I’d tell anyone else that, and don’t you go passing the word around either. Because there is still hope. There is always hope. And prayer.
Such is the prophecy, and such will be the union. Two countries, made one. But will they burn or will they stand? Only time will tell.
‘P’ with Ethaniel:
Instead of a subject, Hope is telling me to post a song for this letter. She says it is ‘my’ song. I’m sure it could fit many others, not just myself, but I… No. I can’t talk about it. Just… you can listen to the song, and maybe you’ll understand.
